Our Love for Danes

Signal Mountain Danes was created out of pure love for the Great Dane breed after owning Danes as pets for 20 years. In 2020, our family suffered a tragic and devastating loss of our 2 year-old Quincy at the hands of an irresponsible and unattended boarding facility. This facility is locally given a “Best of the Best” Award every year. Following months of investigation by city authorities, an animal negligence charge was brought against the owners by the city. Unfortunately, in court, the company was not found neglectful because the owners were not on site during the 6 days. Boarding facilities have zero inspections by licensed authorities of any kind in the state of Tennessee and this is sadly the case in most states.

After years of research and care for our own Danes, Echo, Columba and Indigo, a commitment to bring a healthy bloodline to families that also love the Great Dane breed has become a reality. Signal Mountain Danes became a reality for us in 2025. Our program focuses on 100% European Great Danes. My husband and I are both in the medical field and it is safe to say that you can be assured your puppy was raised in our home by our family and was given lots of love and superb care. We take pride in being selective in our choice pairings of our dams and sires and their lineage to bring you the very best healthy and structured puppy possible.

Danes are a different breed that require much education before your commitment of owning this large breed. I encourage you to do your own research, from the birth weight to the breeder you choose, to help you be prepared for this commitment. They will need your endless love and patience.
